Why Levofloxacin Intravenous Infusion BP is Prescribed?
Fluoroquinolones are a class of antibiotics that includes levofloxacin injectable. It functions by eradicating the infection-causing germs. Colds, the flu, or other viral diseases cannot be treated with antibiotics like levofloxacin injection. Antibiotic overuse raises the likelihood that you’ll get an infection later on that is resistant to antibiotic therapy.
How Should Levofloxacin Intravenous Infusion BP Be Used?
Levofloxacin injection is administered as a solution (liquid) using a vein-accessing needle or catheter. It is often intravenously (into a vein) infused (slowly administered) once per 24 hours over a period of 60 or 90 minutes. The sort of infection you have will determine how long your therapy will last. The duration is recommended by your doctor.
Levofloxacin injections are available both in hospitals and for use at home. Your doctor will show how to inject the drug to you if you will be administering levofloxacin injection at home. If you have any issues, consult your healthcare professional. If you experience any difficulties administering levofloxacin injection, see your healthcare practitioner for advice. During the first few days of your levofloxacin injection treatment, you will start feeling better. Call your doctor if your symptoms do not disappear or worsen.
